Graceful Poise is one of my favourite pieces because it embodies both strength and calmness. The woman in the painting exudes an inner peace that I hope resonates with everyone who sees it. When I started creating Graceful Poise, I was particularly inspired by the beauty of henna patterns. In South Asian culture, henna is often used to celebrate life’s most important moments—weddings, festivals, and rites of passage. I’ve always admired the intricate designs and the symbolism behind them. In Graceful Poise, the delicate henna motifs swirl around the woman’s face and hands, almost becoming a part of her.
